The Compassion Care Initiative kicks off its 5th year with a week-long educational campaign bringing awareness to animal, child, and domestic abuse.
Washington, PA – Four local non-profits have partnered to launch a week-long educational campaign bringing awareness to the correlation between animal, child, and domestic abuse.
The Washington Area Humane Society (WAHS), CASA for Kids Washington, Genesis of Pittsburgh, and Domestic Violence Services of Southwestern PA (DVSSP) have partnered together to find commonalities in their missions and services to better serve the voiceless in Washington County, Pennsylvania. The founding sponsor of the Compassion Care Initiative is the Cranberry Psychological Center of McMurray.
The week-long event starts October 31st and runs through Thursday November 4th. A robust schedule of nine educational offerings is free to the public. These include a Compassion Fatigue Webinar, a screening of Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope, The Correlation between Animal Cruelty and other Crimes Webinar, Cat Yoga for Adults and Children, Grand family Support Class, Identifying Child Abuse Webinar, Creative Healing: Tips for Self-care and Learning Creative Habits, and a Volunteering with CCI Partner Workshop.
