The Washington Area Humane Society welcomes rescued beagles.
The Washington Area Humane Society (WAHS) was among five local organizations including Animal Friends, Beaver County Humane Society, Butler County Humane Society, and Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh that came together in this cooperative rescue and transport of 21 beagles.
The beagles were relocated from the Envigo facility based in Virginia after an investigation was conducted by the Humane Society of the United States that resulted in the surrender of up to 4,000 dogs in July.
Due to the volume of interest in the beagles, the WAHS has created this page to answer frequently asked questions:
How can I adopt one of the beagles?
The beagles at the WAHS are currently being evaluated and receiving medical care from our Kennel and Vet Departments. They are currently not available for adoption and at this time and we will not be accepting applications on the beagles until they are ready for their forever homes. Please continue to check our website for updates!

How can I help the beagles and other animals in your care?
The WAHS appreciates your support! Please consider supporting our mission by adopting, fostering, donating, or volunteering.
