For over 100 years, the Washington Area Humane Society (WAHS) has remained committed to Washington County’s most vulnerable animals. The WAHS proudly fulfils its mission by supporting 4,000 pets each year through intakes, adoptions, foster placements, low-cost vaccination clinics, affordable spay and neuter services, humane investigations, and a community pet food bank.

On average, the Washington Area Humane Society cares for more than 200 kittens (newborn – 6 months) each year.
Neonate and young kittens are some of the most vulnerable pets in need in shelters as they require around the clock care for the first few weeks of their lives.
You can be a part of this life-changing experience by sponsoring a litter of kittens at the WAHS.
Basic Kitten Litter Sponsorship I $250

Let our kittens de-stress your workplace! It is a known fact that pets have a wonderful effect on people. Work is the #1 stressor in the U.S. Studies show that approximately 77% of people feel physical symptoms of stress. Cats and kittens can reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and increase social interaction, in and out of the workplace.
Each kitten playdate will be scheduled for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Our team will bring adoptable kittens or cats to your workplace. Gather your team for an hour of relaxation and team bonding, all while supporting our lifesaving mission!
De-Stress Kitten Playdate I $500
- 1 hour 30 minute visit with adoptable cats/kittens at your workplace

*Playdates will need to be scheduled with advanced notice and will depend on the availability of adoptable cats/kittens at the WAHS.
38 pets each month, on average, find their loving, forever home through the WAHS. By being a monthly adoption sponsor, you could be a part of these pets’ happy forever after!

In 2020, the Washington Area Humane Society moved to its New Home. A 10,000 square-foot state of the art animal facility – 100% fully funded.
While our New Home, New Hope Capital Campaign has come to an end, we still have our Dog Adoption Floor naming right available. Our spacious main kennel features 32 state-of-the-art animal holding areas.
