Pets for U.S. Vets
The Washington Area Humane Society salutes all active duty military and armed services veterans. Our Pets for U.S. Vets program began in 2010. Veterans can adopt a WAHS shelter animal for free as a thank you for your service to our country. Veterans must provide proof of service, a DD-214 or Military Retirement I.D., to participate in this program.
This only applies to one adoption per veteran.
