Washington, PA – The Washington Area Humane Society (WAHS) is excited to support local community pets and their families by offering a free rabies vaccine day. The hope is to administer rabies vaccines to over 500 community pets. The rabies vaccine is a requirement of all dog owners in Pennsylvania. Dogs and cats are welcome. Pet owners will leave with a rabies tag and certificate as proof of vaccination. Please always have dogs on leashes and cats in carriers. Coolie Skoolie ice cream truck will be onsite 11 am – 1 pm with pup cups for dogs and tasty treats for humans as well.
The WAHS’s rabies clinic is funded by a foundation grant received earlier this year. Pet retention and wellness is a priority for the WAHS in 2024 and this new funding is available to help community pets in need.
The Observer Reporter is the lead sponsor on the event.
Washington Park has graciously allowed the WAHS to hold this event in their main pavilion. There will be ample parking and space for visitors. After getting a rabies shot take your dog to check out the “Bark” park located in Washington park. This off-leash area is a great place to take your socialized, vaccinated pups for a little play time.
