Shop Online
The Washington Area Humane Society is a qualifying charity on igive.com and GoodShop.com. We receive percentages of all sales when purchased through the websites. So many of the biggest name retailers participate that you hardly to need to look elsewhere — Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, Home Depot, Old Navy, Petco, Sharper Image, Target — The list is so long … before you shop, check and see if your store is listed. Chances are what you would have purchased directly from the retailer’s site can be purchased through igive.com or GoodShop.com and the shelter will receive a portion as a donation. For specific donation percentages, see the entire list of stores from A to Z
Register by selecting the state, the charity type (animals), then find Washington Area Humane Society in the list. You only need to register once and then you can just start shopping. Make all your online purchases through igive.com or goodshop.com where the vendors give back to your charity (WAHS). All the most popular stores including Target, Gap, Brookstone, Eddie Bauer, Office Depot and so many others give back when you shop through igive.com. You can always find what you want and donate too without ever leaving your chair.
Use Goodsearch.com and choose WAHS as your favorite charity. Total contributions are paid to each charity once a year based on usage.

If you are a Seller on Ebay, you can donate a portion of your sales to WAHS by going to www.ebaygivingworks.com. You will find us in the list of charities. You can also designate a donation through the Pay Pal Giving Fund formerly known as Mission Fish by visiting www.missionfish.org. The Pay Pal Giving Fund and Ebay Giving Works, both raise money through Ebay sales and other online donation to help support charities nationwide.

Barn Homes Needed for Cats
Some cats that come to us for a second chance do not adjust to living in a cage, especially for a long periods. They sometimes bite and scratch because they are scared, or unsocialized. Many can become social and friendly once they are in a cage-free environment. If you have a warm barn and are willing to feed and care for one of our independent cats, please call our “Cat Adoption Area” at 724-222-7387 ext.107. You will be saving a cat and most likely be getting a mouser.
We Need Doghouses
We try to stock up on dog houses to give to people who cannot afford them and more importantly to protect the dogs from the weather when there is no other place for them to go. There is an ongoing need for doghouses and we welcome donations. Please donate sturdy, waterproof doghouses to WAHS where we can put them to good use.
P.A.T.H.S. Program
If you have visited us, you can see that our cages and dog runs are always full. Dedicated employees care for these dogs and cats 7 days a week. We receive no funding from the county and operate solely or private donations. Many generous people bring us food, cat litter, and supplies, but we desperately need monetary donations to meet monthly expenses.
One way you can help is to join our PATHS Program (Partners, Angels, Trustees, Helpers, Saviors) and pledge an amount to contribute each month.
We ask all dedicated animal lovers to take it upon themselves to assure that the basic needs at the shelter are able to be funded on a monthly basis. If we can be assured of a steady income for routine monthly expenses, we can maintain buildings and grounds with an other fundraisers.
Whether you join the PATHS Program or send a donation to help us continue to care for many unwanted pets at the Humane Society, the Board of Directors, employees, volunteers and our orphaned animals will be sincerely grateful for your thoughtfulness. All contributors will receive our newsletter which informs our friends of fundraising events, abuse investigations, and ongoing news about our homeless animals.
